Regular Maintenance

We would like to draw your attention to some points you should pay attention to when performing regular maintenance.

General Maintenance of Breakers
  • The breaker must not be operated in water or mud.
  • The breaker chisel should be removed every week, and the spike in the nail bed should be refurbished.
Daily Maintenance of Breaker
  • The front end of the breaker chisel must always be greasy and the chisel must be lubricated with graphite or molybdenum grease daily .
  • Bolt check should be performed daily, and the loose ones should be tightened.
  • If the breaker chisel falls 2mm below the standard diameter, the breaker chisel must be replaced immediately. Otherwise, piston or bushing breakage may occur.
50 and 100 Hour Maintenance
  • Check working pressure and safety pressure settings.
  • The oil temperature should be checked and not allowed to enter the dangerous (red) zone even at the hottest time.
  • Breaking force should be checked, if it is low, service should be consulted.
  • Bolts should be checked, loose ones should be tightened, missing ones should be replaced.
  • All hydraulic connections must be checked.
  • Make sure the hydraulic hoses are not broken.
  • Replace the oil filter of the excavator.
  • Use grease with a minimum temperature of 250 ° C.

The grease used must be graphite or molybdenum.

Considerations When Working

When operating your hydraulic breaker, it is important to pay attention to the following points in order to keep your breaker life longer and reduce your maintenance costs.

Avoid wasting.

Always apply the breaker stroke in a direction perpendicular to the surface to avoid a knock.

Never overload the terminal!

Never use the breaker chisel as a lever.

Break resistant materials by the edges.

If the chisel is applied to the same point for more than 30 seconds but does not pierce or break the material, change the location.

Do not operate the breaker in water or mud.

Do not operate the product with the exception of the crusher chisel into water or sludge. Corrosion of the piston or similar parts may cause premature damage.

Be careful not to hit the breaker on the conveyor.

Use the breaker at the appropriate impact speed.

NKB hydraulic breakers have a control valve with which the stroke rate can be adjusted. Adjust the pulse speed to the field conditions.

Do not work under high temperature conditions.

Use oil cooler if the oil temperature exceeds 80 ° C.

Do not move or push the rocks.

Pushing the rocks with the edge of the cabin is the most important factor in breaking the cabin bolts.

Do not use the chisel as a lever.

Using the tip as a lever to break rocks can break the cabin bolts or the tip.

Do not hit continuously for more than one minute.

If the rocks do not break even with a stroke of more than 1 minute to the same point, change the hit point. Remember, prolonged hit to the same point will cause premature wear.

Run the breaker at the appropriate engine speed.

Important! High engine speed does not increase impact power! It only increases the oil temperature, causing premature failure of the piston and valves.

Do not drop the breaker on the rock to break the rock.

Hitting the breaker against a rock can cause serious damage to the breaker and the machine.

Do not operate the breaker when the machine's rollers are fully extended.

Striking in this way will damage the rollers and many parts of the machine.

Do not lift objects with breaker.

Attaching a rope to an object or a cabin does not only damage the breaker but also endangers personnel safety!

Warm up the engine of the machine before starting work.

Warm up the engine of the machine for 5-10 minutes before using the breaker, especially in winter.

Do not touch the breaker during operation.

The temperature of the breaker parts increases during the operation process. Therefore, it may be dangerous for body contact.
